CINEMA IS EVERYWHERE
Director, Cinematographer
feature documentary   •   filmed in China, India, Scotland, Tunisia
including Javed Akhtar, Shyam Benegal, Mark Cousins, Stanley Kwan, and Oscar®-winner Tilda Swinton

Four stories from China, India, Scotland, and Tunisia are woven together with archival footage and insights from acclaimed filmmakers and ordinary moviegoers. A young crew in Hong Kong embarks on the shooting of their first film; an aspiring actress in Mumbai battles to break into Bollywood; a Tunisian director anticipates the premiere of his controversial documentary film; and two friends in Scotland put on a festival unlike anything you've seen before... Each of these stories is tied together with vignettes set in video stores, projection booths, cinemas, homes, and slums, to form a vivid meditation on the power of cinema to shape our world.

Cinema is Everywhere was picked up for international distribution by TriCoast Worldwide in early 2011 and premiered as a Marquee event at the Austin Film Festival on October 22nd. It has since screened at the Costa Rica and Jaipur International Film Festivals and will be available on a variety of media coming in 2012.

AWAKEN THAT LIGHT
Co-Director, -Cinematographer, -Editor
documentary short   •   directed by Aubrey Gallegos, Teal Greyhavens, and Robert Rye

There are two sides to every experience, even near-death experiences.

Gary “Dag” D’Agostino, a college boiler room operator and family man, learned this when he came unexpectedly close to dying, and felt he had to make a choice. D’Agostino had worked as an emergency first responder for many years, and knew what it was like to be on the helping side of a bad day. So too does Jason Strang, a firefighter and EMT in the town where D’Agostino lives and works. Strang shares his insights on witnessing death and what drew him to become a medic; and the care he shows reveals an awareness of our own fragility––for, like D’Agostino’s, anyone’s life can change in a second.
